IN Announcement
CIRCULAR TO: TRAINERS with HORSES RACING
CIRCULAR TO: TRAINERS with HORSES RACING at Taupo on Wednesday 25 AUGUST 2021
Terry Campbell | August 23, 2021

Thank you for accepting horses to race at the Taupo meeting this Wednesday.  In the hope that this meeting is able to proceed, Trainers and staff are asked to comply with NZTR regulations for racing under Alert Level 3 protocols.

With Alert Level 3 applying in our region we have to run a ‘Closed door Meeting’. As such, only people absolutely essential to the running of the race meeting will be permitted on-course.  This applies to you and your staff.

STABLE STAFF

Please advise by 1pm on Tuesday 24th August the name and cell-phone number of your staff that are working on the day.  If a stable staff member is not notified to the Club that person WILL NOT be admitted to the course.  A stable hand licence on its own will not gain entry.  Staff must be nominated by the trainer for whom they are working.

Please notify: Marion Thompson via 021 749 179 or marion@racingtaupo.co.nz

QUESTIONNAIRE

Please also give them a copy of the attached COVID-19 Health Screening Questionnaire which needs to be filled in by you and your staff on race morning and handed in to our people at the Checkpoint on the gates.  Doing this will speed up entry rather than having to complete the forms at the Checkpoint. This is particularly helpful if you are in a horse float otherwise it will have to stop whilst a questionnaire is completed.  Please note that the Questionnaire is relevant to that particular raceday to ensure that the person is fit and healthy to attend the races.  It is irrelevant if a form has been completed previously or at another race meeting.

LICENCE

MOST IMPORTANT.  Make sure that you and your staff have their NZTR 2021/22 Licence with them. No licence no entry.  It would be a good idea to have them on a lanyard so as to be easily visible.

ENTRY TO THE COURSE  Please use the Marguerita Street entrance and on arrival you will be asked to sign in via a security officer or scan the QR code, Jockeys and Trainers can park in the main car park as per normal.

Float carpark entrance will be as per normal past Rydges and through the big carpark on the right.

COLLECTING SADDLES & SADDLE CLOTHS

Access to the Birdcage is through the alley way adjacent to the main entrance to the secretary’s office

Trainers and staff are required to not enter the Weigh-In room unless essential, and to minimise time in that area.

MASKS

  • You are requested to source your own personal mask before coming.
  • Masks must be worn at all areas in the racecourse.
  • Failure to wear a mask according to the regulations will result in expulsion from the race meeting.

FOOD

  • There will be no on-course catering or other food provisions.
  • You must bring your own food and drink.

ALERT LEVEL 3 NZTR EMERGENCY REGULATIONS

Please read carefully the attached document in particular clause 2.1 relating to Race meetings.  These will apply on Wednesday.

We thank you in advance for your co-operation to ensure a smooth running of this raceday.
